Hello! Thank you for visiting my website. I’m Erica, photographer and owner of Erica Manning Photography. I assume that you hit the “about me” tab because you want to get to know me a bit. So, here it is!
My philosophy: Having a child is one of the most life changing experiences in our lives. Feeling your baby kick for the first time, gazing into the eyes of your newborn child, watching your toddler take his or her first steps… all these things generate a love you never thought was possible prior to children. Each stage of your child’s life will bring joys beyond your expectations. We all have a finite amount of time with our kids under our roof, so every moment has great value. As a photographer, my charge is to capture those fleeting moments and the unique qualities of your child’s character at every stage of their journey to adulthood.
My style: Once you book your session, I learn more about you so I can start planning for our time together. I constantly search for ideas and inspiration, scout new locations, and learn new techniques to make your session unique and personal. I plan and prepare, but expect the unexpected. Some of my greatest shots have come from unforeseen circumstances.
I work with clients from newborn to adult to make the environment comfortable, fun, and stress free. The experience is just as important as the resulting photographs.
My Technique: I can create beautiful portraits for you both in-studio and/or at a location of your choice. My studio work uses a combination of natural light and strobe lighting to create a beautiful balance between light and shadow, giving depth to your portraits. And, of course outdoor sessions use the most wonderful backdrops ever created. I am located in Pickerington, Ohio, and serve the entire Central Ohio region. My studio is located in historic Canal Winchester, a wonderfully quaint town where you can’t help but feel nostalgic.
Personally Speaking: I have been blessed with a wonderful supporting husband, two beautiful teenage girls, and two rescued labs. Each brings me joy in different ways – my husband keeps me laughing and makes me feel secure, my girls keep me young (or try to – eye cream helps too), and my dogs help me to remember to cherish the little things. In my spare time I take our youngest dog, Jack, to assisted living homes for pet therapy. I serve in various ways at my amazing church, and I am a volunteer photographer of Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. I feel it’s important to give back when and where I can.
I am an active member of Professional Photographer’s of America (PPA), and participate in several local and international photography forums.
I thank you for considering me. It would be my honor to help make your memories last forever.
